The Story Behind Batch 1
Our Batch 1 Direct Fired Single Malt Irish Whiskey represents a bold step in the revival of direct-fire distillation in Ireland. Every drop was crafted in the heart of the Donegal Gaeltacht, using traditional Charentais stills to carefully double distill the spirit.
The magic continues in maturation. This batch was fully matured in a 500-litre Spanish Oak Butt from Juan Pino, a renowned cooperage in Córdoba, Spain. The cask was seasoned for 24 months with rich PX sherry, allowing the spirit to absorb layers of flavor, character, and colour that only this combination can create.
The result? A bold, full-bodied single malt bursting with deep complexity and balance — dark fruits, warming spices, and toasted oak all come together in a rich cask-strength expression. It’s a harmony that captures both the soul of Donegal and the sun-soaked essence of Andalusia.
